MY TOP 10 RECORDS OF 2016

2016 was a hell of a year in many many ways.

I'd say on a personal level it's been the standout year of my life. I've simply never known a year like it.

The highs have been the highest I've ever know, and to be honest, the lows have truly been some of the lowest points of my entire life.

Ultimately, healing and transformation have rounded off my 2016, allowing for growth and development in new exciting ways as I embark on a new chapter in my life.

That being said, there was some AMAZING music released in 2016, so here's my Top 10...

1. TIM GREEN - FOR A MEMORY (GET WEIRD)

My undisputed tune of 2016 comes from a good friend of mine. Tim is extraordinarily talented and a super down to earth guy, and this incredible piece of music knocked every crowd I played it to for six this year. A stunning combination of acoustic and electronic, a sonorous clash of Orchestral and House...

2. PAUL WOOLFORD - MOTHER & CHILD (HOTFLUSH)

No Words necessary. Simply incredible, meaningful house music with deeply spiritual undertones

3. MASAYA - FLOW OF TEARS (RIPPERTON EDITION) (CHAPTER 24)

Well I would say that wouldn't I :)

4. SASHA - PONTIAC (CLUB MIX) (LNOE)

Well I would say that wouldn't I :)

5. TIM GREEN  ONLY TIME REMAINS (GET PHYSICAL)

You might be seeing a pattern forming here ;)

6. HYENAH: THE IDEA (FRANKEY & SANDRINO REMIX) (FREERANGE)

Simply one of the most versatile records of the year. I've been able to play this warming up for Max Cooper, I've had peak time moments to this record, it's one of those records that just 'IS'

7. CARIBOU - SUN (RYAN DAVIS RE-THINK) (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Yep, one of the tracks of the year for me is a free download. What a masterful reinterpretation by Ryan, who is consistently one of the best technical producers out there...

8. DELE SOSIMI AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA - TOO MUCH INFORMATION (CHRIS FORTIER EDIT)

Couldn't find a link online for this one but its a truly wonderful piece of work by the evergreen Chris Fortier. You can hear it on my Frisky Radio Artist Of The Week mix above, starts at 1hr 53mins :)

9. CLAVIS - ALCINE (FREERANGE)

The peak of an absolutely stunning year for Freerange

10. IAN BROWN - F.E.A.R.

Quite evidently not from 2016, it's from 2007 to be exact...but this makes the list as it's the single most profound record of my lifetime.
